As for a whole account of my trip - I am writing a paper on it for a class that I will repost here. I wasn't able to update this as much, also keeping in mind Security for everyone else. I was inevitably pretty shocked by the police state we do live in, especially in America. I had a really good time and a real eye-opening experience about social issues and the world around me. I've come more into the fact that cannot sustain as people, society, etc if we continue living in a capitalism culture. We honestly do need to abolish capitalism and globalization and all become self-sufficient and self-sustainable in order to fix so many of the social problems, environmental destruction, inequalities of wealth, etc ... becoming a "green" company isn't going to fix the problem. Sure, it'll give us time ... but that's it.
This trip was really important to me. I met a lot of people and was amazed at the Solidarity of the group and people's willing to merge with others and trust them. I locked hands and arms with people I didn't know that had masks on but I felt reassured by this. We all knew who each other was in some way or another ... it was amazing. And the fact that these actions made International News was another fucking amazing thing. And the fact that I was a part of it and can show my daughter one day that I had enough passion for something to travel 28 hours to with strangers and make friends with them, I think - is an amazing thing for her to look up.
Thanks all for reading this ... I shall have my paper done in a few days. And last night, we stopped in Oberlin, OH to stay for the night that Co-Operative housing and I got to take a shower, it's been almost a week - it was an amazing shower. :)
